Sónia Carabineiro is an Assistant Professor at Nova University of Lisbon since 2020. She is one of the world’s top female reviewers and evaluator of international projects, including ERC grants. She has been included in the list of the worldwide most cited scientists (top 2% of Chemistry) published by Stanford University. She has published more than 270 papers and 28 chapters in books, has a h index of 60 and more than 12,200 citations (Scopus, November 2025). Her research interests include nanoparticles, nanostructured catalysts, mixed metal oxides, graphene, graphitic carbon nitride, carbon nanotubes and their use in biomedical applications and catalysis.

Prof. Evgeny Katz received Ph.D. in Chemistry from Frumkin Institute of Electrochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, in 1983. He was a senior researcher in the Institute of Photosynthesis in 1983-1991. In 1992-1993 he performed research at MünchenTechnischeUniversität as a Humboldt fellow. Later, in 1993-2006, Dr. Katz was a Research Associate Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 2006 he is Milton Kerker Chaired Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Science, Clarkson University, USA. He has (co)authored over 530 papers, Hirsch-index 97. His scientific interests are in the broad areas of bioelectronics, biosensors, biofuel cells, and biocomputing

Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 134) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 30,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. He is currently helping those companies and serves as a professor at Brown University, Saveetha University, Hebei University of Technology, UFPI, and others. Dr. Webster has numerous awards including: 2020, World Top 2% Scientist by Citations (PLOS); 2020, SCOPUS Highly Cited Research (Top 1% Materials Science and Mixed Fields); 2021, Clarivate Top 0.1% Most Influential Researchers (Pharmacology and Toxicology); 2022, Best Materials Science Scientist by Citations (Research.com); and is a fellow of over 8 societies. Prof. Webster is a former President of the U.S. Society for Biomaterials and has over 1,350 publications to his credit with over 55,000 citations. He was recently nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Prof. Webster also recently formed a fund to support Nigerian student research opportunities in the U.S.

Balázs Sarkadi, MD, Ph.D., spent several years as a post-doc and then as a visiting scientist at major universities in the United States and Canada. He is research professor at Semmelweis University, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, past president of FEBS, ICRO, and ITTS, member of several international research societies including the Academia Europeae and the Royal Society of Medicine. He obtained numerous awards, including the Denis Gabor award for research application development. His research has been focusing on membrane proteins which play a major role in the multidrug resistance of cancer, in general pharmacology, and in stem cell function. His recent work is related to transporters in pluripotent stem cells and in stem-cell derived differentiated tissues and organoids, the application of organoids in drug development. He has published more than 320 papers in international scientific journals, with a citation number over 18,500 (in WoS, or 25,200 in Google Scholar) with an h-index of 71/75. He has several international patents already in commercial applications.
